I think of this song as the late-night companion to my last single, 'Heartbeats.' Inspired by UK breakbeat and techno artists like Bicep and Overmono, 'Cathedral' goes harder and incorporates classic rave elements like a massive supersaw bass on the drop and a central hook comprised of reassembled R&B vocal snaps. This track turns up the heat on my usual style while retaining an emotional core of longing for that club-as-church feeling of togetherness and communion.
